Lord, comform me to Your Will: "I just wanted to leave you with a poem that came yesterday when I needed to spend time with the Lord, in my ' prayer corner' , which usually is in a corner here in the living room area..
But, because right now, it is to hard to be on the floor, in a physical sense , I have had to envision myself in my ' prayer corner ' , but here in my reclining chair, instead.

And so, this morning, I wanted to share this poem, maybe because there are others who need to be in the presence of our God, bringing hurts, worries, and needs before Jesus - and , maybe , even like I have this morning, you will bring hidden sin, as I have done, hiding behind an appearance of joyfulness that is not what I truly feel inside, today. Honesty is everything when standing before our God , and I am just grateful He sees me, as I am, and loves me in spite of my hidden sin.

I hope this poem, slash prayer ministers to your heart in some way, and as you are brought into the Presence of our Holy God, you can come with humbled assurance , that just as you are, He will meet you today exactly where you are, in whatever physical, emotional or spiritual state that you are.. I am so thankful that my Redeeming God, Jesus Christ, meets me just as I am right now.. I hope you are thankful as well.

Entering humbly into the presence of my God
yes, He is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings
and with my sin, I come to the Savior I know
and by His grace, forgiveness I know He brings

He is the Potter, I am but a vessel of clay
Oh how His Glory outshines the darkness of my sin
when needing grace, it's to Him I know I can pray
' Father, conform me to Your will, filling me within'

I want to seek you Lord, in all honesty
seeking You 'just as I am ' , face to face
and in my search, may Your Spirit sweep over me
Lord God, surround me with Your Mercy and Grace..

Yes, You are the Lord of my life
you are my Savior, my anointed One
Lord Jesus , in me, may Your presence be all that's seen
because I know in You , victory over sin has been won!

Sincere or Insincere?: "Abraham had received the promise from God years before He spoke as recorded in Genesis 17:1: “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” In fact, so many years had passed [...]"

She Came:
"Don't we all need the humble and full-of-trust sort of faith that this woman exhibited? Oh, indeed we do.

'came from behind and touched
the border of His garment.'
Luke 8:44

You there, yes, you. It is time for you to step out of the multitudes and boldly come for Him. If at first you come from behind and gingerly approach, that is fine. Just reach out. He is waiting.

'she came trembling
and falling down
before Him'
Luke 8:47

Now it is your turn. Do like this woman. She came from behind and she came trembling. And then she fell down before Him.
Come gently.
Then fall humbly.
Sisters, what did she do, this wounded, bleeding woman? Simply and profoundly...

She came.
To Christ.
For healing.
Let us humbly pray:
Father God, give each of us the bold courage to be the one who comes out of the curious multitudes, following close behind the steps of Jesus, just reaching out to be transformed into another one whom He healed by a mere trusting touch. In Jesus' name, amen.

Does anyone need prayer today and/or have something to say?"

What God Promises to Provide: "

Focus-on-Your-Finances

"And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 NIV).

We all know that God promises to provide for us, to supply all our needs. But just what does that look like in our life? What needs is this verse talking about?

What God Promises to Provide & The Concept of Profit

HOmes & Scenary in Delaware August 2009 from AIsha (18) According to First Timothy 6:8, we are to be content with having food and clothing. Jesus also promises provision of food and clothing in Matthew 6:25-34 if we seek His Kingdom first. Food and clothing? We certainly need a lot more than that!

"What about housing, cars, cell phones, and vacations?," you ask.

That is extra blessing that is provided by surplus money, or what the Bible calls profit. God provides extras through your personal hard work. When it says that God supplies our needs, He is promising to provide food and clothing for us. Not that God is limited to only this provision. He also provides shelter, transportation, ways to communicate, and times of refreshing, but He is not limited by our definition of "what is best for us" or "what we really need." These things are most often the reward of hard work.

The only reason I bring this up is because I have seen God provide the need for shelter through hospitality. Family or friends open their home to a homeless family. Many times people have asked me why this happens, assuming that God promises that we will have our own home. I have not found that promise in Scripture, though I so often see God provide a home for His beloved people.

"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty" (Proverbs 14:23 NIV).

God supplies our "extras" as payment for industriousness. This hard work is not only the work we do for a paycheck. God rewards elders financially for caring for God's flock, especially those who teach and preach (I Timothy 5:17). Running sound, ushering, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and volunteering at a soup kitchen are all opportunities to work hard and receive a profit. Homemakers may not receive a paycheck, but they do receive a salary from the Lord, who rewards their labor!

Those who serve faithfully in their local church often receive "surprises" from the Lord such as gift cards, movie tickets, furniture, hair cuts, used cars, or, even, vacations. God loves to bless us!

Why Work is So Important

Many times when you see the people of God receiving miraculous provision, it is God's reward for their labor in His Kingdom. In fact, God values work as a means of provision, even for the basic necessities of life.

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: 'If a man will not work, he shall not eat" (II Thessalonians 3:10 NIV).

Why is hard work important to God? My grandfather always said, "Idle hands are the devil's workshop." Too much free time can lead to the pursuit of pleasure, harming our character. But working hard and receiving payment in the form of a check, or as a blessing from God, teaches us to value what we are given. We associate hard work with needs being met. There is no such thing as a free lunch. If we receive something for free, it is because someone somewhere worked hard and let their profit go to you.

I believe that God wants us to be grateful for everything we receive, understanding and appreciating the price that is paid. When we reward laziness with financial or material blessing, we harm the recipient of the gift. It would be better to imitate God, providing a job, however small or big.

Provision for Kingdom Work

Merey Aisha Julianna Amish Country August 6, 2009 (16) It has been my observation, over the years, that God provides all we need to faithfully fulfill all ministry obligations he has called us to. In our life, we have had supernatural provision so that we always have a home (our ministry involve large amounts of hospitality), bills paid, and a telephone (counseling is another big part!). A lady whose act of service is to drive people to church will see God miraculously provide for car repairs and gas. She may even receive free vehicles.

You see, God will provide for His work to be accomplished. He is very interested in seeing His agenda completed.

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work" (II Corinthians 9:7-8).

As we tithe, give, and work cheerfully to extend God's Kingdom, He will give us whatever is necessary to fulfill the ministry He has for us. Now, keep in mind, His plan may be different than our plan. Often we want to fulfill our own dreams, rather than take the path of service that He wants us to take.

God will supply our needs, and many times the "extras" too, especially whatever is necessary to fulfill ministry in His Kingdom."

The Journey of My Heart

Tuesday, March 09, 2010
A Wing and a Prayer: "'Let me find refuge and trust in the shelter of Your wings.' Psalm 61:4b (Amp)

Today I'm being stretched to believe I can rest in God's sovereignty with complete inactivity (on my part). Instead of working on something I need to do, God's challenging me find shelter under His wings through prayer...to be still, talk to Him and trust He is working when I am not. This is where believing God and doubting myself play tug-o-war. It makes me...

Doubt I can get this done.
Doubt I heard God right.
Doubt God's timing.
Doubt my abilities.

Satan wants us to doubt ourselves
God wants us to believe HIM! That is where we learn to live in the power of HIS promises. It's the only way to live beyond the shadow of our doubts. But it's hard when you're having a bad day. Like the one one that just culminated with a run-away dog this afternoon, and me crying 'cause I didn't think I'd find her since she didn't have her tags on her new collar.

I drove around my neighborhood and surrounding area with my windows down crying out, 'Daisy, Daaaaaaaaisy, Daiseeeeey!' And praying, 'Lord, please don't let this happen. Not now. Not Daisy. You know she'll run forever. She's a beagle whose nose will lead her to SC and she won't even know she left home. This is the last thing I need today, God. Pleeeaase help me find her.'

Finally a man who lives near us brought her home while I was out looking for her. He told mom it took a piece of bologna to get Daisy to come to him. I could've strangled that bologna-eating dog when I got home. But she was smiling and jumping on me like she'd gotten back from a friends house.

Life happens, but I sure do wish it would coordinate itself with my plans. Today was a writing day and now my brain feels like a sledge hammer is pounding on it. Why do things like this happen almost every day I block out time to write? Seriously. And can I be honest with you? It's frustrating. I can't write every day so when I can, I really need to.

Sometimes it feels like I am living in the middle of impossible.

So what do we do in the middle of impossible? First, I cling to the promise- With Christ all things are possible. I also ask God for a specific 'word' from Him to live in and a step to take.

This weekend He gave me 2Timothy 1:12b, 'For I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I've entrusted to Him for that day.'

Then today He challenged me to walk it out - to be convinced that He is able to guard what I've entrusted to Him for this day - for me it's the chapters I feel like I should be writing.

As far as a step to take, the Holy Spirit reminded that God's been nudging me to for a while to ask friends to pray for me and the message of 'A Confident Heart' and the women who will read it, until it's written. He's reminded me that the enemy is not happy about what He is up to on the pages of this book and that he will do all he can to stop me.

I am walking out 2 Tim 1:12 and now I am going to take the next step and ask some friends...

Would you'd like to be part of the 'Confident Heart' prayer team?
I think it'd be so wonderful to seek Christ' heart with you and ask Him together to make Himself famous through this book. Leah (my assistant and dear friend) and I are excited to see who God will gather with us. We'll collect names/emails to send requests and we'll also be praying for them too! To join us, leave a comment below with your email address and we'll send you updates, probably once a week. (Or email aconfidentheart@gmail.com with 'Prayer Team' in the subject line.)

I have a feeling God is writing a chapter right here in the middle of impossible today. I'd love to know if you ever feel like you are living in the middle of impossible? What are some promises or practices that help you get out of that hard place?

I love to hear from you! (and pray for you, too)

Blogging has brought me so many blessings, not the least of which is forging friendships with other like-minded bloggers, And occasionally, I get to meet a fellow blogger in real life!

Such was the case yesterday. The winner of last week's double giveaway was another
Texas Blogging Gal. When Beth emailed me her address, we discovered that we live only about 30 minutes from each other. So instead of mailing her the books, we met at a most appropriate place: a Starbucks located inside a Barnes & Noble Bookstore! We had such a good time chatting. And she gave me a great idea for a dessert I need to take to a fajita lunch meeting today.

If you haven't 'met' Beth, you need to go check out

I was ready for a fun day on Monday after being slapped in the face, so to speak, on Sunday with the reality of how old I really am! A sweet young couple visited our church. The wife, Jennifer, is 32, and their oldest child is seven years old.

When Jennifer herself was seven and in the second grade, I taught her in Children's Choir at our old church. I had been out of college a couple of years. She was a sweetheart then, and she obviously is still precious because she told me 'you look just the same!'

She can come back any time!!

Thanks so much to those of you who prayed for my missionary sister's needs while she is in the USA on medical leave. She's been here just over a week. Less than forty-eight hours before her arrival, someone called letting me know there was a fully furnished house available for her use. At no charge. Two days after her arrival, I received a call that another family had an extra car that she can use. At no charge. The man wanted to get the oil changed and some other things before she got it, and yesterday afternoon we picked up the car and got her situated at the house. Like I said before, God's never late, but He's never early either!

And this was at the bottom of an email I recently received:

The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
Political correctness disclaimer (and please read this Letters From Midlife blog post if you are as tired of the P.C. police as I am!): this is meant as a fun joke; in no way do I mean to disparage the folks who truly suffer from mental issues.

Media Meditation: Truth or Lies?: "

Join me at the Get Revived Conference!

When I was about 12 years old, my family and I went to Denali Park in Alaska. There was a beautiful glacier in the park that was roped off. However, many people were crossing under the ropes and climbing up the icy face of the frozen mountain.

I was excited! I wanted to climb a glacier. I ducked under the rope and began my trek up the slippery ice. As I started climbing, I realized that my t-shirt, jeans and Keds tennis shoes were not helping me. In fact, I kept slipping down the ice, and I almost fell into the deep blue ravines that cut through the glacier like giant bear claws.

I noticed other people were climbing the glacier with ease because they were prepared with climbing gear. They were focused and ready for the trials that they would face in order to experience the blessing of reaching the top.

I gave up trying to climb the glacier because I knew that I would never make it in my current state of helplessness. I missed out because I wasn't ready.

This memory reminds me of the abundant Christian life that God has planned for each of us. So many Christians want the blessings of God, but they are not ready to receive them. Living an abundant Christian life is riddled with trials and tests, and we must allow the Holy Spirit to equip us. Otherwise, we will slip down the ice and possibly fall into a ravine. We will be riddled with fear and frozen by our weaknesses.

God is able to prepare our hearts for an amazing adventure with Him through meditation. Joshua 1.8 (NIV) reads, 'Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.' We must mediate on God's truth, so that we can stand firm on His promises. Otherwise, we are doomed to failure.

Meditation is the filling of our hearts with either truth or lies. One of the biggest sources of meditation today is found through media. Christians need to be diligent about weeding out the many lies that pour out of media. Those lies make us vulnerable to the Enemy and keep us fearful, distracted and disinterested in crossing over to the abundant Christian life.

We only have one life. We need to make the best of it. Let us focus our hearts on God's truth and make our way up the glacier to His amazing blessings. It will be difficult, but it will be the thrill of a lifetime. . . guaranteed!

My Prayer of Fullfillment:

"Looking to Gods Glory in today's rising sun
Glory ,greater than any kingdom man will build
the presence of my Holy God is felt
His Glorious gift to me, being spirit filled

Yes, spirit filled with my awesome Lord
filled with the power of the One who made every thing
Lord, in me, may Your Spirit fill
conform me, I pray to You, whose praise I sing

Glory, Glory, in the Son who arose
our song of praise to the Holy One above
our lives to live conformed to Thy will
Jesus, our Redeemer , may You fill us with Your Love.

Lord, let your spirit come and dwell in me
Oh let your Glory spring forth like a growing tree
fill me with cool refreshing waters of Life
Oh Lord, in me, let your Glory, be all that others see.

This morning, I spent some quiet time praying for patience and being restful in the ways that the Lord needs me to do right now. As I began praying the sun was rising over the hillside looking toward the front of my house - there was darkness of the sky, yet the light beginning to dot the horizon as the sun slowly made its way to the upper rooftops of the houses across the road..

As I kept looking outside, I began asking the Lord to fill me with the total encompassing of the Holy Spirit today, so that a repeat of my frustrating day yesterday, would not be part of today's scenario.
I asked to have the infilling of the Holy Spirit, so that today, in whatever circumstance I may be in, with whomever may be part of my life, that all they would see is the Presence of the Holy Spirit, Himself.

And as I felt that peace that was slowly enveloping my soul, I know my prayer was answered, and I am being filled with the fullness of my Holy God.. And I am most grateful, and humbled that our God, our most HOLY God, loves me enough to let me feel the fullness of His Presence this morning.

Verse of the day

Romans 5:1-8

By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that's not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God's grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise. There's more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we're hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we're never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

Are You Poor in Spirit? Rejoice!

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt. 5:3 NKJV

The poor in spirit…What does ‘poor in spirit’ mean? The word ‘poor’ in Greek means to crouch, a beggar (as cringing), pauper, asking alms, needy, and lacking in anything.‘Poor in spirit’ does not mean poor in spirituality. The one poor in spirit is lowly in heart, convinced of his or her spiritual poverty and pleads as a beggar to God to be replenished. One who is ‘poor in spirit’ has emptied himself or herself of all pride, selfishness, and ambition through humility, gratitude, and submission to God. …are blessed…‘Blessed’ in Greek means happy, supremely blest, fortunate, well off, and of that which is the highest good.…for theirs is the kingdom of heaven…The Greek word for ‘kingdom’ means royal power, kingship, dominion, rule, the territory subject to the rule of a king.Without recognizing one’s lack of spirit, one cannot realize God’s fullness. Grace cannot be poured out to one oblivious of his or her necessity for it. The poor in spirit have the fulfillment of heaven’s kingdom dominion. The poor in spirit are blessed with the kingdom’s abundance of riches.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matt. 6:33 NKJV)

Scripture tells us that we share in the God’s kingdom because we are His children, “For [God’s] Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.” (Rom. 8:16-17 NLT)

Are you poor in spirit? Then, shout because you are blessed. The riches of Christ are yours. The kingdom of heaven is yours. Hallelujah!

Today’s Devotional: Predestined for Trials:
By Chris"

We were never promised that life in Christ would be easy. In Acts 14:22, Paul and Barnabas tell the disciples of Christ that “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.” They delivered this message shortly after Paul had been stoned and left for dead!

Spurgeon writes in Morning and Evening that God’s people are predestined for trials. It’s an inescapable part of our life, but we must remember that trials develop our character:

God’s people have their trials. It was never designed by God, when he chose his people, that they should be an untried people. They were chosen in the furnace of affliction; they were never chosen to worldly peace and earthly joy. Freedom from sickness and the pains of mortality was never promised them; but when their Lord drew up the charter of privileges, he included chastisements amongst the things to which they should inevitably be heirs. Trials are a part of our lot; they were predestinated for us in Christ’s last legacy. So surely as the stars are fashioned by his hands, and their orbits fixed by him, so surely are our trials allotted to us: he has ordained their season and their place, their intensity and the effect they shall have upon us. Good men must never expect to escape troubles; if they do, they will be disappointed, for none of their predecessors have been without them. Mark the patience of Job; remember Abraham, for he had his trials, and by his faith under them, he became the “Father of the faithful.”

Choose to Rest in the Father Everyday: "

Choosing Life Everyday with Patricia Marie Warren @ TakeRootandWrite.com

"Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10a NKJV)."

A child develops a chronic illness...

A spouse decides to pursue another relationship and leaves us alone...

How are we deal with the problems that come into life? Do we rage and stomp at the unfairness of it all? Do we weep and retreat into ourselves to hide?

"God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and
though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its
waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its
swelling
(Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV)."

Sadness-13153181 (c) Phase4Photography @ Fotolia.com Psalm 46 is a song for us to sing during times of trouble. We can be so caught in the trouble of the day that we see no way of escaping the stress and pain. If we don't quiet ourselves when the trouble comes, if we just focus on the immediate pain, we can't hear or feel the comfort God has for us.

"There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted (Psalm 46:4-6 NKJV).

We do not have to suffer alone. Jesus did that for us when He suffered alone on the cross. That was the only time in all of eternity that He experienced complete separation from His Father. After He rose from the grave and ascended to heaven, He left us a Comforter, the Holy Spirit. He is the still small voice that speaks comfort when our hearts are crushed. He is the still small voice that warns us not to make the wrong choices in response to trouble. He is the groaning too deep for words that cries out to the Father...

And we can draw comfort because...

"The Lord of host is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge"(Psalm 46:7 NKJV).

Our Creator God is the source of power that we can claim as His children. His power is mighty and able to to help...

"Come, behold the works of the Lord, who has made desolation in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire" (Psalm 46:8-9 NKJV)

All it takes is a willingness to hear Him when He speaks, through the mightiness of His hand in creation, through His inspired word written in the Holy Scriptures or through His still small voice whispering to our aching heart...

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalm 46:10 NKJV)

Finding Comfort -250435 (c) Jason Stitt @ Fotolia.comOnce we are still, we will know these reassuring truths that can take us through the trouble and lead us to joy in Him.

1. God is our refuge.

2. God is our strength.

3. God is our ever-present help.

If we remember this

4. We will not fear no matter what comes our way because

5. The Lord is with us.

Sometimes we feel that we don't hear that Voice, but we have a guarantee that God is always near us. Pray this today:

Father, I know you are with me because you tell me that "the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to Him" (Deuteronomy 4:7 NIV). Help me be still and hear Your voice of comfort so I can rest in You today. Amen."

Internet Cafe Devotions - Potentially Possible Promise

Potentially Possible Promise:

"I love the old Gaither song, “I am a promise. I am a possibility. I am a promise, with a capital ‘P.’ I am a great big bundle of potentiality….” I’ll never forget belting out this song in church with a handful of other kids singing beside me. It’s taken me years to grasp its true meaning.

As a young kid inside a broken and hurting family, this song meant that I could be somebody someday, even if all the strikes were against me. I held on to the hope of this promise by being the best I could be at everything. I worked for straight “A”s in my academics. In high school, I was literally in all of these programs in the same year: choir, show choir, theatre, football cheerleading, basketball cheerleading, marching band, concert band, school newspaper, track & field, cross country, student council, ALPHA (group speaking to peers about drugs and alcohol), youth group, AND I held a job at the local pizza place. I did all of this while making the honor roll, maintaining friendships and almost always having a boyfriend on my arm.

I’m tired, (and a bit embarrassed) looking back at this. All of those activities and relationships gave me such great satisfaction at the time–I can’t even describe it…I thrived on them. What is so strange is that even with all of those accomplishments, I still never felt like I was reaching my full potential at any of them. Somebody always had it more together than me or sang more beautifully, or aced more tests than I. The boyfriends were easily ripped off my arm, and I got to the point where student council gave me ulcers from all the conflict. Where was all that promise and possibility now?

It truly existed the whole time, but I misunderstood how I was to achieve it. If I’m not careful, those old habits can sleepwalk their way back into my thinking. The Lord has shown me that I only have capital “P” potential when Christ is behind and IN what I’m doing. HE is my capital “P” Promise. When I lose myself in Him, when I give up my own hopes of being somebody important–that is when my life has capital “P” possibility. Here’s the truth of the matter:
“I can do everything THROUGH CHRIST who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

“If a man remains in me and I in Him, he will bear much fruit; APART FROM ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING.” John 15:5

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:2

“For IN HIM we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28a

(all verses from the NIV, emphasis mine)

As believers, where do we find our identity? What trophies would we like to have on our shelves and how many? What fulfillment are we chasing outside of Christ? Our motives and our objects of trust really do matter. Longing for earthly success or gain of any kind will never lead to true fulfillment. Whether it’s being a good parent, writing the best story, juggling and multi-tasking at the amazement of everyone else, leading the pack spiritually, maintaining a great career, staying physically fit, having more money or status or friends…all of it—apart from Christ having His way with it—is rubbish.

So, let’s press ahead together, with Christ as our Promise, remembering that confidence is misplaced if it is found in our own abilities. It is in losing ourselves in Him—His kingdom and His righteousness–that we understand our amazing potential to do what the end of the song says: “And I am learning to hear God’s voice, and I am learning to make the right choices. I am a promise to be anything GOD WANTS ME TO BE.”

For His glory alone,

Children Desiring God offers four titles for use with elementary-age children, all of which are evangelistic in nature.

The Call of GodAn Evangelistic Study for Children on the Work of God in Redemption. God is calling people to be a part of his family. This curriculum explores how God overcame the sin problem through the sinless life and death of Jesus on the cross, and thus enables people to respond to the call of God with faith. These lessons are also available in Spanish.
Things HiddenAn Evangelistic Study for Children on Kingdom Parables. Using kingdom parables, the goal of this curriculum is to awaken spiritual interest in children, so they might seek after the hidden treasure of God and find their satisfaction in him.
God Always WinsAn Evangelistic Study for Children on the Greatness of God in Salvation. These lessons show God as the great Victor who triumphs over all enemies, including Satan, death, and sin. He is great and mighty, and worthy of our worship!
Wisdom Calls AloudAn Evangelistic Study for Children on the Wisdom and Fear of the Lord. This study uses wisdom literature to teach the difference between foolishness and wisdom, and shows children the need for a true heart change to fight against their foolish and sinful nature.
